Newport Beach, CA, May 23, 2007 – for immediate release--- The Surfrider Newport Beach chapter is hosting an “all ages” event at local venue, eVocal, to spread the message that a Toll Road through a State Park is not the solution to traffic problems in laceName>OrangelaceName> laceType>CountylaceType>. The event will kick-off with performances by talented musicians Ray Jordan and Lani Trock, followed by the Newport Beach premiere of Shack Therapy, a surf film featuring exotic locations and today's most progressive surfing. The grand finale will be a performance by the amazing Tim Myers and his band. There will also be an exhibition by local artist Jessie Miller, featuring artwork dedicated to the “Save Trestles” campaign.

Shack Therapy, a Teton Gravity Research production, is a state of the art surf film documenting the surfing and lifestyles of the world's top surfers. Featuring: Andy Irons, Jamie O'Brien, Pancho Sullivan, Ian Walsh, Shane Dorian, and more.

California-born singer-songwriter, Tim Myers, has combined his passion for music with his political beliefs to create music in the style of John Lennon and Bob Dylan. His music has been featured on Grey’s Anatomy, and in the film Downward Spiral.  He has co-written songs for such artists as Gwen Stefani and Natalie Imbroglia. Local musician, Ray Jordan, has been described as “the soul version of Jack Johnson”. His song, Mediocre Poker was featured on the MTV show Maui Fever. Lani Trock, originally from Hawaii, has a music style that is an acoustic blend of the blues and surf rock.  Her recent song Healthy Obsession is described as “a simplistic sound, with its own zest.”  Artist Jessie Miller grew up in Costa Mesa where he developed his eclectic, 70’s surf style. He is a mixed medium master, an amazing painter as well as a craftsman. Nathan Paul Gibbs’ artwork revolves around an ocean-nurtured lifestyle. The “found object” sculptures he creates, reinvents the energy of ocean waves, and the way they move, form and break. Nathan is also known for his exceptional support of water related charities.

Tim Myers,

Ray Jordan,

Lani Trock,

Since I am an eVocal local, I will be donating a couple of pieces to this great cause. I hope to see you there for a night of good music, a killer video and excellent art for auction and purchase.

Find one Incomplete Fleeting Memory

Is any memory perfect? Or is it what we make it? If you look in the sky, try to find the face that I put in the sky. Also, this is one of the few paintings that I put a "design" in the sky. What is amazing is that the design that created the face is just the natural wood grain that I painted over. I love working with nature and just beinging out her design with colors she can't produce naturally with that object. This piece focuses on the surf spot Churches. Has an image of the power plant, and was created to bring awareness to the cause to stop the 241 Toll Road.

Original 2' x 4' Value $890.00

Should be a fun time!
