Painting Naming Contest Winner Announced!

Earlier this summer I finished a painting and had a contest to name the painting. I received many entries from all over the United States. I must admit it was a difficult decision. I have never allowed someone else to name something I had put so much work into before, so it was a little bit of a stretch for me. Here was the painting:

Some of my favorite entries of the contest were:

"Blueberry Savannah" -Emma G. from Columbia, MO
"Forrest Storm"  -Donna Q. from Costa Mesa, CA
"Refuge" -Scott H. from Yulee, FL
"Only the Crows Survived" -Gordon G. from Silverdale, WA
"EVE'S ETERNAL DECISION" -Justin G. from Lakeland, FL
"Inversion on the Sea" -Kelley G. from Costa Mesa, CA
"Tree of Life" -Burton D. from Torrance, CA
"Africa" -Kirsten K. from Ladera Ranch, CA

Congratulations to all these entries. They will receive 50% off of any thing created by myself, Nathan Gibbs on DefineArt.com.

It was very difficult as I said earlier to choose from all the entries. Each of the entries made complete and total sense from the creative aspect of the art. So after long deliberation I decided to chose the name,

"Tree of Life" -Burton D. from Torrance, CA

Burton included a very good explanation of the name as well, which kid of put his entry over the top. Here it is:

TREE of LifeTREE ROOTS sprout ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION
Tree of Life supports growth.
Tree of Life is a safe place for the gentlest of living beings!
Tree of Life dots the landscape.
Tree of Life creates roots.
Tree of Life Environmental Education
Tree of Life solid in the World.
Tree of Life inifinite capacity.
Tree of Life HOPE.

Thank you to all the entries! Congratulations to Burton on the new painting you will recieve as a thank you for your participation.

Please look for more contests here at this blog in the future. Remember support the arts!

Thanks,

Nathan Paul
